  5. TommySoftware CAD/DRAW 2.0 for Windows is a low-cost but full-featured
  6. CAD drafting package that is suitable for anyone who needs to draw with
  7. precision but who doesn't need a high-end CAD package.  This easy-to-use,
  8. cost-effective professional-quality shareware product combines 2-D
  9. drafting functionality with a fast redraw speed, pop-up menus, support
  10. for 256 layers, and the ability to import or export graphic data. Users
  11. can customize the pop-up menus and the keyboard to adapt the software to
  12. their personal work style.

  14. Easy To Learn and Use
  15.      TommySoftware CAD/DRAW 2.0 has an easy-to-use graphical interface
  16. with familiar pull-down menus and an extensive, context-sensitive help
  17. function that lets you get up to speed quickly. You can choose commands
  18. from the menu, the keyboard, or from icons on a customizable pop-up menu
  19. that lets you quickly and easily choose commands without wasting precious
  20. space on the drawing area.  You can also configure the keyboard to your
  21. personal needs by assigning every letter key or numeric key with up to 3
  22. commands.  An undo/redo function helps prevent unintentional changes and
  23. deletions.

  25.      A choice of various sheet formats comply with DIN/ISO standard and
  26. several US formats.  In addition, you can enter a value for the sheet
  27. size in millimeters or inches.  You can set unit lengths as micrometer,
  28. millimeter, centimeter, meter, kilometer, inch, foot, yard, mile,
  29. dezipoint, point, didot, and cicero. The three possible angle units
  30. include degree, gon, and radian. The current unit determines the scale
  31. and all other settings and commands that are based on length or angle
  32. units such as the measure command.

  34.      The program supports up to 256 drawing layers.  You can individually
  35. fade out, freeze, or display every layer in a different color. In
  36. addition, you can select a pen for each layer, defining the line width,
  37. line color, and line pattern of all objects that will be drawn in this
  38. layer.

  40.      The current drawing detail can be moved with the arrow keys and the
  41. scroll bars. Several zoom commands allow you to zoom and pan, and you can
  42. save certain zooms to choose them later if necessary.

  44. Extensive Drawing Functions
  45.      Status windows display important information such as the current
  46. coordinates, and a choice of grid settings (cartesian, isometric, and
  47. dimetric) allow the exact positioning of points. You can arbitrarily
  48. choose the distance between grid lines.  Measure lines and associative
  49. measure functions comply with DIN 406.

  51.      Regardless of the task, extensive drawing functions let you work
  52. efficiently.  You can easily create the following: line, polyline,
  53. triangle, quadrangle, rectangle, trapezium, parallelogram, polyeder,
  54. circle, circle arc, circle ring, ellipse, ellipse arc, ellipse ring,
  55. parabola, zigzag line, circle arc chain, Bzier chain, spline, and
  56. outline.  The software also includes a variety of manipulation functions
  57. such as copy, move, scale, rotate, reflect, sheer, center, lock, release,
  58. foreground, and background.

  60.      TommySoftware CAD/DRAW 2.0 provides several construction functions
  61. including: construction line (perpendicular on line, perpendicular on
  62. circle, parallel variable, and parallel fixed); construction tangent
  63. (circle point, circle   circle outside, and circle   circle inside);
  64. construction circle (circumcircle, incircle, perpendicular on line, and
  65. perpendicular on circle); division (distance, circle, and array);
  66. multiple copy (rotation, distance, circle, and array).

  68.      To manipulate an object, you just select it. You can select or
  69. deselect individual objects or whole areas of your drawing.  In addition,
  70. you can select an object according to its attributes (e.g. line width,
  71. color, or layer membership), and you can manipulate several objects after
  72. you select them.  You can hatch objects and can edit the hatching
  73. function, specifying line width, line color, line pattern, distance, and
  74. slope.  You can also use a symbol as a hatch pattern that is
  75. automatically resolved into lines.  Using outlines that consist of a
  76. sequence of lines and Bzier curves, you can create any form of area and
  77. can change it at any time.

  79.      The library functions can handle up to 900 symbols in one library,
  80. and you can create your own libraries.  Sixteen additional libraries are
  81. available for $19.95.  Four b vector points are included with the
  82. software and you can change these fonts or create completely new ones.

  84. Import and Export Capabilities
  85.      You can import or export graphic data using the Windows clipboard.
  86. This means that you can insert a drawing created with TommySoftware
  87. CAD/DRAW 2.0 into another document such as a report or letter.  Special
  88. import/export converters are available for foreign formats such as DXF
  89. files.  These converters are independent from TommySoftware CAD/DRAW 2.0
  90. and can either be started by a program function or as an independent
  91. Windows application.
